PGE president comments on granting of permit for offshore wind farms in 60.E.3 area

The Ministry of Infrastructure announced on 25 January 2023 the results of the adjudication procedure for the location permit (PSzW) for area 60.E.3 located on the Central Shoal of the Baltic Sea. Baltica 1 Wind Power Plant, a subsidiary of PGE Baltica of the PGE Group, received the most points.

“The 60.E.3 area is directly adjacent to the Baltica 1 project we are already developing. This means that there are great opportunities to exploit synergies in the future development of both projects. In some cases, it will be possible to carry out joint procurement procedures for, among other things, conducting research and acquiring components necessary for the construction and operation of offshore wind farms in this part of the Baltic Sea. This is the second recent procedure decided in favour of the PGE Group. This demonstrates the high substantive quality of the applications prepared and the solid work of our specialists behind them. According to the PGE Group’s strategy, we plan to build at least 6.5 GW of generation capacity on the Baltic Sea by 2040 and each new location permit will bring us closer to fulfilling this goal,” .

says Wojciech Dąbrowski, President of the Management Board of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna
