“The Agriculture Committee, with votes from PSL, Civic Platform (PO), and Poland 2050, rejected our resolution to challenge the EU’s decision regarding the Mercosur agreement. This is bad news for Polish farmers. Today’s vote shows that the government only claims to oppose it, while in reality it is not blocking anything,” Law and Justice (PiS) MP Robert Telus wrote on the X platform.
“They are afraid of upsetting Germany.” PiS after the vote on Mercosur
During a session of the Sejm Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, votes from Civic Coalition, PSL, Poland 2050, and The Left rejected amendments proposed by PiS MP Zbigniew Kuźmiuk to a resolution obliging Tusk’s government to challenge the EU-Mercosur agreement before the Court of Justice of the European Union.
