PiS Leader Unveils Questions for Migration Referendum: “We Fear a Repeat of Past Experiences”

“We already have enough signatures for the initiative to hold a referendum on illegal migration, but we are afraid of what has happened to us several times before – especially in Warsaw – when we had gathered enough signatures, yet it was announced that we hadn’t,” said Jarosław Kaczyński, Chairman of the Law and Justice party (PiS), in an interview with niezalezna.pl.

For some time now, the Law and Justice party has been preparing to hold another referendum concerning illegal migration. The collection of signatures is ongoing.

Yesterday, Niezależna.pl reporter asked PiS Chairman Jarosław Kaczyński about this initiative.

“We have enough signatures, but we fear what has happened to us a few times already – especially in Warsaw – when we had the required number of signatures, but it was declared that we did not. Please remember what happened with the referendum during the elections. In essence, those were unlawful actions; otherwise, the turnout would have been sufficient – I am convinced of that. That’s why we want to have far more than necessary. We already have more than required, but we want to gather much more,” said the Law and Justice leader.

What questions will appear in the referendum?

“The question will be simple: Do we want the migration pact, the forced admission of migrants? Do we want to defend Poland against this misfortune?” Jarosław Kaczyński stated.

“So, will there be just one question?” our reporter asked.

“There might be two, but in essence, their meaning will be the same,” he replied.
