PiS MPs Go to the Prosecutor’s Office Regarding Tusk and Dobrzyński: “The Prime Minister is a hardened repeat offender.”

Following Tuesday’s posts by Donald Tusk and Jacek Dobrzyński concerning the background check on Karol Nawrocki, MPs from the Law and Justice (PiS) party are notifying the prosecutor’s office. “We are filing a notification of a justified suspicion of a crime committed by the Prime Minister of the Polish government, as well as by Jacek Dobrzyński, the spokesperson for Minister Siemoniak. In our assessment, they committed a crime by disclosing information from the proceedings and by creating and disseminating false information,” said PiS MP Andrzej Śliwka today.

After the debacle involving Jacek Murański—a dubious figure who turned out to be the source of “revelations” about Karol Nawrocki’s past—Donald Tusk presented a new version. He now admits that Karol Nawrocki received a security clearance. However, he emphasizes two points: first, that it was issued in 2021 by “PiS leadership”, and second, that “the ABW officer in Gdańsk handling the case in 2021 issued a negative opinion.” A similar post had earlier been made by the Ministry of Interior and Administration (MSWiA) spokesperson, Jacek Dobrzyński.

Tusk and Dobrzyński’s claims were refuted by former MSWiA head Krzysztof Wacławek in a statement.

“Once again, Prime Minister Donald Tusk is being untruthful. In 2021, the background check was conducted by the Department for the Protection of Classified Information of the Internal Security Agency (ABW) in Warsaw, not by the ABW branch in Gdańsk,” wrote Wacławek. He added that ABW experts recommended that Nawrocki be granted security clearance.

Lies Against Trump, Slander Against Nawrocki

Yesterday, during a press conference, PiS MPs responded to Tusk’s recent actions. They presented a video showing that the Prime Minister similarly attacks Karol Nawrocki to how he previously attacked Donald Trump, the current President of the United States.

“The Prime Minister of the Polish government is a hardened repeat offender when it comes to lies, slander, and manipulation. At the end of the election campaign, Donald Tusk is clearly trying to install his puppet, Rafał Trzaskowski, in the Presidential Palace—a completely submissive politician who will sign anything Tusk wants. That is why Tusk will stop at nothing. (…) Tusk is not holding back in spreading slanders, lies, and manipulations targeting the civic candidate Karol Nawrocki,” said PiS MP Andrzej Śliwka.

The State at KO’s Service

The former Deputy Minister of State Assets pointed out that “further evidence is emerging that this corrupt, discredited government, led by Tusk, has indeed used all the instruments of the state.”

“The appropriate agencies, instead of safeguarding Poland’s security and handling civilian counterintelligence, are involved in Rafał Trzaskowski’s campaign. The Prime Minister and the MSWiA spokesperson falsely informed the public via social media that there were irregularities in Dr Karol Nawrocki’s security vetting. Today, following the statement from the former ABW head, we know that what Donald Tusk and Jacek Dobrzyński wrote is one big blatant lie,” Śliwka stated.

“In light of yesterday’s declarations, we are submitting a notification of a justified suspicion of a crime committed by the Prime Minister of the Polish government and Jacek Dobrzyński, the spokesperson for Minister Siemoniak. In our assessment, they committed a crime by disclosing information from the proceedings and by creating and disseminating false information,” he added.

Did Dobrzyński Misstate the Facts?

Later yesterday, Jacek Dobrzyński, the MSWiA spokesperson, published another post regarding the proceedings involving Karol Nawrocki.

“It is worth noting, crucially, that the former ABW head did not deny that he issued a security clearance despite a significant and negative recommendation from the officer analyzing the case file,” Dobrzyński wrote.

Stanisław Żaryn, advisor to the President of Poland, accused the government of manipulation.

“Col. Krzysztof Wacławek clearly stated—ABW officers conducting the procedures for Karol Nawrocki’s security clearance gave a positive recommendation. And ABW’s actions in this matter have been positively assessed by the current agency leadership,” he wrote, responding to Dobrzyński’s post.
