“This government is dangerous for Poland. Today, we call on Tusk: reject the migration pact,” urged former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during a rally in Zgorzelec (Lower Silesian Voivodeship), encouraging participation in the “STOP Illegal Migration” campaign. A similar appeal was made by Mariusz Błaszczak in Rosówek, West Pomeranian Voivodeship. The series of conferences was also inaugurated by Jarosław Kaczyński in Słubice.
On Saturday, leading figures from the Law and Justice (PiS) party met with residents of towns near the Polish-German border. Each spoke on the issue of public safety for Polish citizens, identifying illegal migration as the primary threat. According to them, such incidents are already occurring in towns along the German border.
Earlier, the largest opposition party in Poland launched an online campaign titled “Stop Illegal Migration”.
Morawiecki and Witek in Zgorzelec
The press conference in Zgorzelec was attended by former Marshal of the Sejm Elżbieta Witek and former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
“We are here to voice a firm and categorical NO to the Migration Pact. It represents a major threat and harm to Poland. It has become evident that Donald Tusk deceived the Polish people. Throughout our eight years in government, we consistently said NO to immigrants and the hordes pressing on our borders,”
said Witek.
She called upon citizens to sign petitions for a referendum entitled “STOP Illegal Migration.”
“If the state does not guarantee our safety, we must take it into our own hands. We do not want to see illegal migrants in our cities. We, as women, do not want to live in fear; we want to be able to walk the streets in peace,”
she told the assembled crowd.
Morawiecki stated that nine thousand illegal migrants have already been transferred from Germany to Poland.
“Poland is one of the safest countries, but our successors are seeking to destroy that. We must not allow it. This is an assault on our Christian and national culture. We must defend Poland. This government is dangerous for the country. Today, we call on Tusk: reject the migration pact. Do not fear Germany or Brussels,”
he appealed.
Mariusz Błaszczak in Rosówek
Former Minister of National Defence Mariusz Błaszczak met with residents of Rosówek (West Pomeranian Voivodeship) today. At the beginning of his speech, he declared:
“We are Poles, and we have Polish duties – and that duty is to protect our borders.”
He accused the German authorities of “dumping illegal migrants” into Poland while claiming that Tusk’s government has done nothing in response.
“We oppose the Migration Pact and will not allow it to be implemented—Karol Nawrocki will make sure of that. These elections will decide whether a Polish patriot wins or someone who acts as Tusk’s deputy. Let us have no illusions. We must boldly stand up for Poland’s interests. If Poland is to remain safe and the Migration Pact is not to apply, it must be rejected—and Karol Nawrocki will do that,”
said the PiS MP.
He also urged participation in the petition campaign for a referendum opposing illegal migration.
“We do not want our national security to be under threat. Tusk’s government cannot guarantee that Poland will remain safe. Karol Nawrocki must win the presidential election. Then a new political dynamic will emerge. German media inform us that secret negotiations have taken place between the German authorities and Tusk. Poland should be governed by those who truly care about it. We will do everything to ensure that the Migration Pact does not apply to Poland,”
Błaszczak declared.
