In 2024, PKP Intercity achieved a record-breaking 78.5 million passengers, marking a 15% increase from 2023 and 33% from 2022. The most popular routes connected Warsaw with major cities like Gdańsk, Kraków, Łódź, Poznań, and Lublin. On average, 214,000 people traveled daily, with nearly 78% purchasing tickets online. The company aims to exceed 83.5 million passengers in 2025 and reach 110 million by 2030. Investments in 35 hybrid trains and 300 new carriages promise to enhance service quality.

Rising Passenger Experience and Onboard Trends

Travelers increasingly took advantage of onboard amenities, with WARS restaurant services seeing a 15% rise in transactions. The most ordered meal was pierogi, followed by schnitzels, scrambled eggs, and żurek. Coffee remained the top beverage, with 1.1 million cups served. Wi-Fi users streamed content, listened to music, and accessed VPNs for work. Special services such as the Silent Zone, pet travel, and bike transport also saw growing popularity. PKP Intercity continues to adapt to passenger needs, adding 14,000 extra carriages in 2024 to ensure comfort during peak seasons.
