Poland has secured its place as the leading European producer and exporter of candles and grave lanterns, a sector where Polish companies excel. With a staggering export value of €764 million in 2022, Polish products dominate 17% of the global market. This remarkable share means that one in every six candles or lanterns worldwide originates in Poland.
Global Ranking: Second Only to China
While Poland holds the top spot in Europe, globally, it follows China, whose exports in the same category total €877 million. China remains in first place worldwide, yet the strength of Polish production has solidified Poland’s second position, distinguishing it as a major player on the international stage.
Europe’s Unmatched Leader
In Europe, Poland’s closest competitors lag far behind. The Netherlands ranks second with exports valued at €210 million, while Germany follows with €177 million. This wide margin highlights Poland’s established dominance and reflects the country’s deep-rooted expertise in the industry.
