President Andrzej Duda has appointed General Marek Sokołowski as the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and Brigadier General Krzysztof Stańczyk as the Commander of the Territorial Defense Forces, announced the National Security Bureau on Tuesday evening.
General Marek Sokołowski: A Seasoned Leader
At 58, General Marek Sokołowski brings decades of military experience, starting with his conscription service in 1987. He served in various capacities, including missions in Syria, Afghanistan, and Iraq. His recent roles include Acting Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
Brigadier General Krzysztof Stańczyk: A Dedicated Serviceman
Brigadier General Krzysztof Stańczyk, an alumnus of the Military University of Technology, has been involved with the Territorial Defense Forces since their inception in 2017. With extensive experience in missions abroad, Stańczyk is poised to lead the TDF effectively.
General Sławomir Wojciechowski has been promoted to the rank of General of the Polish Armed Forces. He has represented Poland in NATO and EU Military Committees.
