Second Round of Elections – When Are the Results?
Today, Poles vote in the second round of the presidential elections and the election silence began at midnight between Friday and Saturday.
During the press conference, the head of the National Electoral Commission (PKW), Sylwester Marciniak, expressed hope that the results of the second round of the presidential election would be announced just as quickly as those of the first round – that is, on Monday morning or early afternoon.
“I hope we will have the results on June 2,”
he stated.
He noted that the record voter turnout for a second round of presidential elections occurred in 1995, reaching 68.23 percent. A slightly lower turnout – 68.18 percent – was recorded during the second round of voting in 2020. He also mentioned that the lowest turnout in presidential elections took place in 2005, falling below 51 percent.
Marciniak also highlighted that the highest voter turnout in the history of the Third Republic of Poland was achieved during the parliamentary elections on October 15, 2023 – amounting to 74.38 percent.
