    Poland’s registered unemployment rate dipped to 5.3% in March 2024, marking a 0.1 percentage point decrease from the previous month and a 0.1 percentage point decrease compared to March 2023.

    Decrease in Registered Unemployment

    In March 2024, the number of registered unemployed individuals dropped by 21.2 thousand, constituting a 2.5% decrease from February. This decrease was slightly higher compared to March 2023.

    Regional Disparities

    The unemployment rate varied across regions, ranging from 3.2% in Wielkopolskie to 8.7% in Podkarpackie.

    Job Openings and Professions in Demand

    Employers submitted 85.8 thousand job vacancies in March 2024, with positions predominantly available in production, construction, and sales sectors.

    Impact of Ukrainian Crisis

    The number of registered unemployed Ukrainian citizens surged nearly ninefold since the onset of the Ukraine crisis in February 2022.

    Eurostat’s Perspective

    According to Eurostat, Poland maintains one of the lowest unemployment rates in the EU, standing at 2.9% in February 2024, ranking second only to the Czech Republic.
