Poland’s national women’s volleyball team will face Germany, Kenya, and Vietnam in Group G of the 2025 FIVB World Championship. The tournament will take place in Thailand from August 22 to September 7, featuring 32 teams for the first time. The draw was held on Tuesday in Bangkok, with Poland seeded from the top tier due to their sixth-place world ranking.
Tournament Format and Key Matches
The teams are divided into eight groups, with the top two from each advancing to the knockout stage. Poland’s matches will be hosted in Phuket, one of the four official cities alongside Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Nakhon Ratchasima. If Poland advances, they will face a team from Group B, which includes Italy, Belgium, Cuba, and Slovakia.
The Polish team has participated in the World Championships 11 times, winning one silver and two bronze medals. In 2022, Poland finished seventh after reaching the quarterfinals. Defending champions Serbia, who beat Brazil 3-0 in the last final, remain a strong favorite.
