A new survey by the Pollster Research Institute reveals what many Poles have been feeling—life was simply better under the previous government. According to the poll, published by “Super Express,” a mere 18% of respondents believe their lives have improved since Prime Minister Donald Tusk took office 14 months ago. Meanwhile, a significant 38% say they were better off under former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, and 33% feel nothing has changed.
Rising Frustration and Economic Concerns
These numbers highlight growing frustration and deep concerns about Poland’s economic direction. Sociologist Professor Henryk Domański, quoted in “Super Express,” explains that while people might not yet be experiencing a total financial collapse, they are deeply worried about what’s ahead.
“These results don’t necessarily mean Poles are already much worse off, though rising prices are hurting everyone,” Domański said. “What stands out is their fear of the future, which looks increasingly bleak.”
The Key Issue: Energy Prices
A key issue? Skyrocketing energy costs. “People are especially anxious about electricity prices, which keep climbing with no relief in sight,” Domański added.
