A disturbing incident occurred late on Saturday evening on the Piłsudski Bridge in Toruń. Police received a report about a naked black man who was walking in the vicinity of the bridge.
On Easter Sunday, information about the incident appeared on social media. The event reportedly took place just before midnight from Saturday to Sunday near the Józef Piłsudski Bridge. A completely naked black man was said to have been moving along the crossing.
“A naked black man was walking at night in Toruń behind a woman; she became frightened, stopped a passing taxi, and hid inside it,”
reported the X account “Służby w akcji.”
On Monday evening, Toruń police issued an official statement regarding the matter. They did not confirm that the man had been following a woman who then hid in a taxi.
“On Saturday (04.04.26) at 11:51 p.m., police officers in Toruń received a report from a man who saw a naked black man walking near the Gen. J. Piłsudski Bridge. Officers who arrived at the scene detained the described individual and then transported him to a police unit,”
the statement reads.
The police added that due to the man’s behavior, an ambulance was called, and its crew decided to transport him to a specialist medical facility.
“The man turned out to be a 25-year-old student from Zimbabwe residing in Poland,”
the officers informed.
Currently, the 25-year-old is being held in a police detention facility, and the police are to apply to the Border Guard with a request for his deportation.
