“Our journalist, Monika Borkowska, was visited by the police to summon her for questioning in connection with the actions of members of the station’s management,” said Tomasz Sakiewicz, president of TV Republika, on air today. “We are witnessing an escalation of police, prosecutorial, and judicial actions,” he added.
Yesterday, Sakiewicz reported that several members of the TV Republika team have already been questioned by the police.
“Monika Borkowska was visited by the police to be summoned for questioning in relation to the ‘actions’ of the station’s management. So far, seven members of the team have been questioned in this matter,”
said Sakiewicz.
The president of TV Republika also announced that today (October 16) he has a court hearing with Bart Staszewski, and tomorrow (October 17) the verdict will be delivered in his case with the former Marshal of the Senate, Tomasz Grodzki.
“You can’t say someone took bribes and not react. You have to react, and lock up the one who said it,” Sakiewicz said sarcastically. “I can’t talk about what happens during the trial, because Mr. Marshal decided that the honesty radiating from him is enough for people not to find out that those vile liars who claim he or his colleagues took bribes should not be shown to the world,” he added in a similar tone.
Sakiewicz commented that “the Grodzki case itself is such that if even half of what’s in there leaked, no sane person would ever vote for the Civic Platform (PO).”
“I’m not surprised they’re keeping it secret; they didn’t want to lift his immunity, and they buried the case,” he said.
“They were only taking, and we’re talking about it. In a ‘fighting democracy’ state, those in power are allowed to do everything, except be criticized. And punishment must follow,”
he concluded.
According to the TV Republika president, “we are witnessing an escalation of police, prosecutorial, and judicial activity.”
“One of the banks withdrew our loan overnight while we were in the U.S., blocking our cards, even though it had already been approved and we had all the necessary documents and certifications. We had to repay everything within a few hours. Fortunately, we had the funds. These are the kinds of actions taken by the gang that runs Poland,”
he said.
