    Polish Astronaut to Join International Crew for ISS Mission in 2025

    Polish astronaut Sławosz Uznański is set to embark on a mission to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2025. He will train alongside crew members from the USA, Hungary, and India starting August 5, 2024, in the United States.

    Mission Crew and Objectives

    The crew, including mission commander Peggy Whitson (USA), pilot Shubhanshu Shukla (India), and mission specialist Tibor Kapu (Hungary), will undergo rigorous training. Peggy Whitson, a biochemist and veteran astronaut, holds records for the longest cumulative time in space and the most spacewalks by a woman.

    Launch and Mission Details

    The astronauts will travel to the ISS aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. They will spend approximately 14 days on the ISS, focusing on testing Polish technologies and conducting scientific experiments.

    Axiom Space Collaboration

    Uznański’s participation is part of the Ax-4 mission, a commercial crewed mission by Axiom Space. This initiative is a result of a partnership between Poland’s Ministry of Development and Technology and the European Space Agency (ESA).
