The humanitarian convoy bound for the Gaza Strip was intercepted overnight from Wednesday to Thursday in international waters by the Israeli Navy. A total of 42 vessels were seized, and their crews were taken to Israel.
Among those detained were three Poles: Civic Coalition MP Franciszek Sterczewski, Omar Faris, president of the Polish-Palestinian Socio-Cultural Association, and Nina Ptak, head of the Nomada Association. They were among roughly 470 people from 47 countries participating in the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF).
