The Polish kayak team is intensively preparing in Portugal for a crucial event – the continental battle for Olympic qualification in Szeged this May, aiming for a spot in the upcoming Paris Olympics. Head coach Ryszard Hoppe expresses confidence in their chances, citing the impressive performance during previous training camps.
Led by Coach Hoppe, the five-member kayak group is focusing on key elements during their Portuguese training sessions. Starting in Milfontes in January, their training base shifted to Montemor-o-Velho in February. The first camp concluded on Sunday, with the team swiftly moving to the next phase on the following Sunday.
Next Stop: Szeged
The athletes’ dedication and progress fuel optimism that the coveted Olympic spot for Paris might be within reach for the white-and-red team. The upcoming Szeged event holds the key to their aspirations, and their meticulous preparation aims to secure a strong performance.
The European Olympic qualification in Szeged will take place on May 8-9.
