    Polish PM Highlights Benefits of Digitalisation

    At the 15th European Economic Congress in Katowice, Poland, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki on Wednesday declared that Poland now has the opportunity to join the global digital revolution. The premier stated that this is the first time the nation has been presented with such a chance.

    Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki told the EEC that his country is becoming an increasingly prominent hub for Information Technology (IT) professionals and stands to gain from the worldwide digitalisation trend.

    “Today, for the first time in our history, we have the chance to not only be a part of the great global process of digital transformation, but also to benefit hugely from it, because in Poland has gathered a great many talents, IT talents, computer programmers, engineers, software developers, and also specialists in cybersecurity,”

    the prime minister said.

    Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced at an event that the country’s financial market regulator, the KNF, is set to establish an IT centre in Katowice.

    “It is very important to us that central institutions also locate… at least part of their activity in other centres. And here in Katowice, in Silesia, an IT centre will be located, part of the data-processing, part of building the KNF’s database,”

    he added.

    Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced that Poland is expecting a major investment from a company which will be revealed in the upcoming months. He highlighted that Poland was successful in obtaining the agreement despite competition from other countries.
