Polish students win four gold medals at the 4th European Girls’ Informatics Olympiad, excelling in Veldhoven, Netherlands.
From July 22-26, 2024, the 4th European Girls’ Informatics Olympiad took place in Veldhoven, Netherlands. Polish students excelled, winning four gold medals and achieving remarkable results.
Representing Poland were national Olympiad finalists with impressive rankings:
- Daria Lobas, 10th place, XIV LO in Wrocław
- Zofia Krok, 15th place, XIII LO in Szczecin
- Sylwia Sapkowska, 8th place, II LO in Białystok
- Paulina Żeleźnik, 5th place, XIV LO in Wrocław
All Polish participants won gold medals, accounting for four of the fifteen awarded overall. In the unofficial team ranking, Poland secured the top position.

Prestigious Event for Young Talent
The European Girls’ Informatics Olympiad (EGOI) is a prestigious event for young informatics talents. Each participating country is represented by up to four girls, competing under International Olympiad in Informatics rules. The competition consists of two five-hour sessions, where participants solve algorithmic and programming tasks.
