This past weekend, the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans race took place with notable performances from Polish teams. Inter Europol Competition, featuring Jakub Śmiechowski, Clement Novalak, and Vladislav Lomko, secured second place in the LMP2 class. This marks the second consecutive year the team has reached the podium, finishing just behind the #22 United Autosports.
Kubica’s Misfortune
Unfortunately, the race did not end well for Robert Kubica and his AF Corse #83 team. After completing 248 laps, they were forced to withdraw due to a hybrid unit failure. Kubica, along with teammates Yifei Ye and Robert Shwartzman, had the fastest pace in their category and were strong contenders for victory, making their exit all the more disappointing.
Despite Kubica’s setback, Inter Europol Competition’s impressive finish highlights the growing prowess of Polish teams in international endurance racing, bringing pride and recognition to their efforts.
