Polish Volleyball Team Falls to Brazil in Fukuoka Showdown

The Polish volleyball team wrapped up the second round of the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) in Japan with a 1-3 defeat against Brazil, marking their second loss in the tournament. Despite Poland leading the standings with just one loss from seven matches, Brazil’s formidable performance proved too strong for the Poles in this highly anticipated Saturday encounter in Fukuoka.

The match began with a fierce exchange of points, but Brazil pulled ahead midway through the first set, thanks to the impressive efforts of Joandry Leal and Alan Souza, securing a 25-21 win. In the second set, Brazil dominated from the start, with Leal delivering two aces that led to a decisive 25-17 victory.

Poland rallied in the third set with a revamped lineup, featuring Bartosz Kurek, Tomasz Fornal, and Kamil Semeniuk. This change brought them their first lead of the match, resulting in a 25-21 win. However, Brazil regained control in the fourth set with powerful attacks from Leal and Alan, clinching a 25-23 victory after a controversial video review confirmed a crucial point for Brazil.

Despite the setback, Poland remains a strong contender in the VNL as they head to their next tournament in Ljubljana.

    Poland – Brazil 1-3 (21:25, 17:25, 25:21, 23:25)
