Polish women’s chess team beats India, remains undefeated at Chess Olympiad, and prepares to face Kazakhstan.
In the eighth round of the 45th Chess Olympiad in Budapest, the Polish women’s team secured a 2.5:1.5 victory over India. This win keeps Poland in second place, still undefeated. “We are confirming our aspirations for ultimate victory,” commented Radosław Jedynak, President of the Polish Chess Federation.
Key Performances Lead the Way
Monika Soćko’s experience shone through as she defeated young Grandmaster Rameshbabu Vaishali in a crucial game. Soćko’s debut Olympiad in 1994 came seven years before Vaishali was born, highlighting her long-standing excellence. Alina Kaszlinska also claimed victory, and Alicja Śliwicka secured a draw, while Aleksandra Malcewska suffered a loss.
Poland Prepares for Kazakhstan Clash
Poland remains undefeated with six wins and two draws, joined by Ukraine and Germany in their unbeaten streaks. With three rounds remaining, the team faces third-placed Kazakhstan next, in what promises to be a pivotal match.
