President Andrzej Duda emphasized Poland’s unwavering support for Ukraine, insisting that Ukraine’s presence at any peace negotiations is essential. He recalled Poland’s role as the first to send tanks to Ukraine, asserting that without this intervention, the security of Poland itself might have been at risk.
Navigating Complex Relations
Duda acknowledged challenges with Ukraine, particularly around agriculture, which he noted could pose risks for EU farmers if Ukraine joins the EU. Still, he stressed the importance of maintaining a united front and working collaboratively to address these potential issues.
On domestic matters, President Duda reiterated the necessity of large-scale projects, particularly the Central Communication Port. He argued that this project aligns with Poland’s aspirations and its growing economy, giving the country vital infrastructure for both civilian and military needs.
Concerns Over Justice System Stability
Duda also expressed concerns about Poland’s justice system, noting increased legal actions and halted investments. He attributed the political unrest to a refusal to accept democratic outcomes, referring to post-2015 election disputes.
