    Estimated reading time: 1 minute

President Andrzej Duda has signed three significant bills, including one addressing the funding of in vitro procedures. The decision, outlined on the President’s official website, emphasizes concerns within society regarding the ethical nature of in vitro methods.

Acknowledging the demographic challenges and striving for equal opportunities in combating infertility, the President hints at proposing a new bill to finance alternative fertility treatments using public funds. This move comes as part of a broader initiative to support citizens navigating health challenges.

Additionally, President Duda approved legislation aimed at supporting consumers of electricity, natural gas, and heating. Notably, an amendment extends the maximum electricity prices for households until mid-2024, with a reduced rate for consumption exceeding set limits. The law also maintains current restrictions on gas and heating prices for the first half of 2024.

Funding for these measures is earmarked from the COVID-19 Fund, fed by a gas levy retroactively applied for the year 2022. The President also signed amendments to the electronic delivery law, postponing the implementation of universal electronic correspondence services.
