Thirty Polish soldiers will be deployed to Denmark to help strengthen the country’s security. The decision was signed on Tuesday by President Karol Nawrocki. From September 30 to October 3, the Polish troops will secure both military and civilian areas.
“From September 30 to October 3, 2025, a Polish Military Contingent of up to 30 soldiers will be deployed to reinforce the Armed Forces of the Kingdom of Denmark,” the National Security Bureau (BBN) stated in its communiqué.
The Operational Command of the Armed Forces announced on platform X that, in line with the president’s decision, Polish soldiers equipped with specialist equipment will carry out tasks related to the protection and safeguarding of military and civilian areas, confirming Poland’s active role in strengthening international security.
On Wednesday, an informal meeting of EU heads of state and government will take place in the Danish capital, which currently holds the presidency of the EU Council. The main topics will be defense and support for Ukraine. The following day, Thursday, a summit of the European Political Community will be held on the island of Amager, with participation from non-EU countries as well.
Drones Over Denmark
In the past week, Denmark has experienced repeated incidents involving unidentified drone flights over airports in Copenhagen and Aalborg on the Jutland Peninsula. Drones were also detected over several military facilities, most recently on the night from Saturday to Sunday. Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen described these incidents as “hybrid attacks.”
Starting Tuesday, Copenhagen is being transformed into an anti-drone fortress ahead of the two summits organized under Denmark’s EU presidency, which will host delegations from 60 countries and organizations. Security will be ensured by thousands of police officers and soldiers, including personnel from neighboring countries.
