President Nawrocki Calls Urgent National Security Council Meeting After Airspace Breach

A meeting of the National Security Council (RBN) regarding the unprecedented violation of Polish airspace by Russian drones will take place on Thursday. The exact time has not yet been announced.

At least 20 drones entered Polish airspace during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. At least two were shot down by military forces. The remains of the unmanned aircraft are being searched for – so far, fragments of 8 machines have been found.

The violation of Polish airspace by Russian drones is of an unprecedented scale. On Wednesday morning, President Karol Nawrocki announced that he would convene the National Security Council (RBN) within 48 hours. Now, the media are reporting a specific date.

Polsat News has learned that the RBN meeting will be held on Thursday. The time of the session is still unknown.

The National Security Council (RBN) is an advisory body to the President of Poland, composed of the country’s most important officials, including the Speakers of the Sejm and Senate, the Prime Minister, relevant ministers, and leaders of political parties. On Thursday morning, a debate will also take place in the European Parliament regarding today’s incident. It will begin at 8:30 a.m.
