President Nawrocki Highlights Poland-U.S. Parallels in Dallas, Cites the Bible

“I know, and I deeply feel, that here today in Dallas so many wonderful Polish patriots, although in many cases they are, after all, primarily citizens of the United States, carry Poland deep in their hearts,” stated President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, during a meeting with the Polish community in Dallas.

As he assessed, “our national community is a community founded on values, on language, on the shared experience of our past, and on a common dream of our future.” “I know, and I deeply feel, that here today in Dallas so many wonderful Polish patriots, although often primarily citizens of the United States, hold Poland deep in their hearts,” he said.

“Today, as we all know very well, is Palm Sunday. A moment ago, we had a wonderful Holy Mass […] For the first time, I am spending Palm Sunday away from my loved ones, who are in Poland and whom I warmly greet. But you give me great joy, because I am glad to spend it among friends, among my compatriots. I will certainly remember it for a long time,”

he said.

He also cited words from the Bible in which, in his view, “Poland and the United States can find themselves.” “You are free people, but never allow freedom to become a pretext for doing evil. Always be good to others. And it is around this freedom that Poland and the United States cooperate,” he said.

“This is a freedom that builds, a freedom full of love, full of mercy, open to others, but also a freedom that constitutes a certain foundation for the actions of our states,”

he declared.
