“The National Security Bureau is functioning, it is headed by an outstanding expert, the head of the bureau, Sławomir Cenckiewicz, and he is doing his job well, and this bureau will continue to operate regardless of the obstacles thrown by those in power,” said today the Head of the President’s Cabinet, Karol Nawrocki.
“The Cabinet Council always includes those individuals whose responsibilities are aligned with the topics addressed during the Council’s meeting. There are no arrangements yet regarding the presidential side’s composition of the Cabinet Council, but it will include people who deal on a daily basis with the issues that will be discussed at the Cabinet Council,” said today to journalists the Head of the President’s Cabinet, Paweł Szefernaker.
“I understand that those in power are adding various substitute topics to the agenda because they cannot cope with substantive issues. Today it’s matters related to the bill mentioned by the President, and in two days – important, forward-looking issues – CPK (Central Communication Port), budgetary matters, agricultural agreements crucial for the future,” he added.
When asked about Prof. Sławomir Cenckiewicz’s access to classified information, Szefernaker replied:
The National Security Bureau is functioning, it is headed by an outstanding expert, the head of the bureau, Sławomir Cenckiewicz, and he is doing his job well, and this bureau will continue to operate regardless of the obstacles thrown by those in power.
On Wednesday, August 27, the Cabinet Council will be held, convened by the newly sworn-in President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki. Donald Tusk’s government will have to explain the state of the national budget, plans regarding key investments – the construction of CPK and nuclear power plants – as well as the condition of Polish agriculture and its protection from harmful actions by the EU.
Krzysztof Brejza, MEP of the Civic Coalition, issued today in Super Express an ultimatum to President Karol Nawrocki. He stated that if the President allows Prof. Sławomir Cenckiewicz, head of the National Security Bureau, to participate in the Cabinet Council, then the Prime Minister and the government should not take part in it. In the background are insinuations about Prof. Cenckiewicz’s alleged lack of access to classified documents, which have found no confirmation in any court ruling.
