Priest Learns Italian Through Listening to Laura Pausini Music, Gets Invitation to Her Concert

A Polish priest has found an unorthodox way to learn the language by listening to the records of popular Italian song star Laura Pausini. The singer, whose unmistakable voice has won her fans in many countries, was so moved by the priest’s story that she recently invited him to attend one of her concerts.

During a meeting with fans at Florence’s Palazzo Pucci, broadcast by Radio Toscana, Pausini, who is currently celebrating 30 years of her career, was impressed by an audio message from the Polish Father Tomasz.

As he recounted, he has been ministering in the city for many years and admitted that he learned Italian by listening to her songs. He quoted lyrics from her album ‘Io canto’.

He then addressed the singer in Polish: “May you sing always in our hearts”.

“I invite you to my concert in Florence,” Laura Pausini replied.

The star is currently on a world tour to mark the 30th anniversary of her career. She will perform in the Tuscan capital on 22 December.
