In front of the Supreme Court building, where a resolution on the validity of the presidential election is set to be adopted today, a demonstration organized by the Gazeta Polska Clubs is underway. Supporters of the current government have also appeared—led by Marta Lempart. Once again, vulgar slogans were blasted from loudspeakers.
At noon, the Gazeta Polska Clubs began their protest in front of the Supreme Court against attempts to undemocratically overturn the results of the presidential election through “election protests,” most of which have been allegedly inspired by Roman Giertych, a politician from the Civic Coalition.
The GP club members are awaiting the Supreme Court’s decision on the validity of the election, which is expected today. However, provocateurs also showed up, including representatives of the Committee for the Defense of Democracy (KOD), among them Marta Lempart.
“These PiS impostors, who have declared themselves some sort of chamber, will issue a statement claiming it’s a resolution on the validity of the election,” Lempart said.
She claimed that the result of declaring the election valid—which she referred to as a “statement”—would be that “turnout in the next elections will drop to 30–40%,” particularly among opponents of the current government. “Because if our votes are to be counted for the other side, then it’s better not to vote at all,” she said.
Lempart also insulted police officers, calling them “usurpers in blue vests.” Later, KOD representatives played a vulgar protest song featuring the well-known “eight stars” slogan. They also insulted Antoni Macierewicz, who was present at the gathering.
