“Cooperation among institutions is exemplary and everyone is satisfied with it. We would prefer that no drone got through, but the military is doing everything to minimize losses. We are in an unprecedented situation; there has never been such an incursion of drones of various types into Polish territory,” said the head of the National Security Bureau (BBN), Prof. Sławomir Cenckiewicz.
During a statement to the media after a meeting at the National Security Bureau, Cenckiewicz said that, in response to the incursion of Russian drones into Polish airspace, “our entire defense system worked.”
“The military was keeping me and the president informed about the situation in real time. The prime minister recently stated that some of the drones were shot down. Cooperation among institutions is exemplary and everyone is satisfied with it. We would prefer that no drone got through, but the military is doing everything to minimize losses. We are in an unprecedented situation; there has never been such an incursion of drones of various types into Polish territory. Hopefully there won’t be more such situations, but we cannot rule it out. We will do everything to keep the public properly informed,” Cenckiewicz said.
He appealed to rely on information provided by the Operational Command and state institutions. “There is a lot of disinformation in the media,” he added.
