Prosecutors Demand Recordings and Data from Republika — Rachoń Stands Firm: ‘We Won’t Facilitate the Attacks.’ Reactions Emerge Even from the U.S.

“Tusk’s prosecutors, in yet another — a new — letter, are demanding that Telewizja Republika hand over recordings and data from our computers in order to determine whether the CPAC conference was a ‘crime,’” announced Michał Rachoń on social media. “We will not make it easier for Tusk’s prosecutors to attack our partners,” he added.

The prosecution office, subordinate to Waldemar Żurek, has launched an investigation into the financing of the conservative CPAC Poland conference, which in May this year brought together leading conservative thinkers from around the world in Jasionka near Rzeszów. As part of the proceedings, prosecutors have issued unprecedented demands to one of the event’s co-organizers — Telewizja Republika.

The investigation was initiated following a complaint filed by a councilor from the Civic Coalition. The District Prosecutor’s Office in Rzeszów is examining an alleged abuse of power by members of the Podkarpackie Regional Board in connection with the conference’s funding. As part of the proceedings, Telewizja Republika — a co-organizer of the event — received an official letter demanding full recordings of the conference as well as the names and contact details of speakers and participants.

These actions provoked an immediate and sharp response. Michał Rachoń, program director of Telewizja Republika, openly accused the government of using the prosecution service as a political weapon.

It appears this is not the end. Today, as Rachoń reports, Tusk’s prosecutors have sent yet another letter demanding that Republika hand over recordings and data from their computers to determine whether the CPAC conference constituted a “crime.”

The journalist shared the news in the post below, attaching both a video and a photo of the letter.

As it turns out, the case has already drawn international attention. Jack Posobiec, one of the most prominent conservative political commentators in the United States, commented on the matter on his X (Twitter) profile. Posobiec described the actions of Donald Tusk’s prosecutors against Telewizja Republika and CPAC as outright tyranny and called for an “immediate response” from the U.S. Department of State.
