Protesting against mass migration… in Australia. Crowds take to the streets of the largest cities

Thousands of people across cities in Australia took part in rallies against mass immigration on Sunday. Citizens’ concerns have been classified by the left-wing government there as… spreading hatred.

The rallies, organized by the group March for Australia, took place in more than 20 cities, including Sydney and other state capitals. According to the organizers, immigration is responsible, among other things, for rising housing prices and poses a threat to national identity.

In the demonstration in Sydney, where a marathon with 35,000 runners was also held on Sunday, around eight thousand people took part, many wrapped in Australian flags. Police deployed hundreds of officers on the city streets, but there were “no significant incidents.”

Opponents of March for Australia from the Refugee Action Coalition organized a counter-demonstration in Sydney. Police deployed hundreds of officers on the city streets, but there were “no significant incidents.”

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), between June 2023 and June 2024, 667,000 immigrants arrived in the country – 10 percent fewer than the previous year. The largest group of migrants were temporary students – 207,000 people.
