In a landmark achievement, PKP Intercity has received the twelfth and final electric FLIRT train from Stadler Polska, marking the completion of a contract for a dozen cutting-edge trains. Commencing passenger services later this year, these eco-friendly trains are equipped with state-of-the-art amenities.
Comfort Meets Efficiency
Passengers on FLIRT trains can expect a range of conveniences, including air conditioning, power outlets, GSM/LTE signal boosters, and Wi-Fi. The spacious interiors accommodate 294 second-class and 60 first-class seats, tailored to diverse traveler needs, such as cyclists, families, and individuals with disabilities.
Green Innovation
Designed with environmental protection in mind, these FLIRT trains boast dynamic system switching without stopping, energy recovery during braking, and sound insulation for enhanced travel comfort. Stadler Polska’s President, Tomasz Prejs, expressed confidence that the trains will serve both PKP Intercity and its passengers exceptionally well.

PKP Intercity’s Vice President, Tomasz Gontarz, highlighted the company’s commitment to ecological travel. The year 2023 is expected to be a record-breaker, with an estimated 68 million passengers choosing PKP Intercity for eco-friendly rail travel across various routes.
