According to the latest Radio Track data, radio continues to perform well, with a daily reach of 63.6% in the first half of this year. This represents a 1.3 percentage point increase compared to the same period in 2024. The most common place to listen to the radio remains the car, reports Wirtualnemedia.pl.
Between January and June, 63.6% of Poles – approximately 18.7 million people – listened to the radio daily, an increase of nearly 400,000 compared to the first half of 2024. The number of Poles who tuned in to the radio at least once a week remained the same in both 2025 and 2024 – about 24 million people.
Rumors of Radio’s Decline Are Outdated
The car is the most popular place to listen to the radio. In the first half of this year, 11.4 million Poles listened to the radio in their vehicles – around 380,000 more than a year ago. The second most common place is the home, where approximately 8.6 million Poles tuned in during both the first halves of 2024 and 2025. Meanwhile, radio listenership at work increased by 68,000, with about 3.8 million Poles now preferring to spend their time at work accompanied by radio, according to Wirtualne Media.
The outlet also notes that radio listenership is rising across all age groups. Among people aged 40 to 59, 69.5% listened to the radio – a 2 percentage point increase compared to the first half of the previous year. In the 60–75 age group, the figure rose by 1.5 points to 62.6%, and among those aged 25–39, it reached 61.1% (up 0.7 points). Growth was also observed among the youngest age group – those aged 15 to 24 – where 54% listened to the radio in the first half of 2025, compared to 53.3% in the same period of 2024.
Radio Track also examined listenership by education level. Here too, increases were recorded. The highest listenership was among people with higher education – 65.2% (up 0.7 points), followed by those with secondary education – 64.4% (up 1.4 points). Among people with vocational or primary education, 61.3% listened to the radio – a rise of 1.8 percentage points, according to Wirtualne Media.
Radio Republika – Still Young, but Already Making Waves
Although Radio Republika launched online only at the end of 2024, it has already surpassed 200,000 app downloads within just a few months. Every day, tens of thousands of listeners tune in via the app, their computers, or in their cars.
A few months ago, the station launched its morning program, featuring prominent Polish politicians as daily guests. The show is hosted by Anna Popek, Olimpia Tryzna, Edyta Hołdyńska, Adrian Stankowski, and Tomasz Łysiak, among others.
Radio Republika is also becoming a go-to source for local stations seeking high-quality news services.
