Two deputy mayors of Warsaw have lost their positions following the scandal at South Hospital. “Tusk’s notebooks, VIP lounges, fictitious contracts… They let the real culprits off the hook while punishing scapegoats. Let’s not be convinced the matter is settled,” wrote Jarosław Kaczyński on X.
On Friday, Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski announced that his two deputies, Renata Kaznowska and Aldona Machnowska-Góra, had resigned from their posts. The resignations followed media reports concerning irregularities at Warsaw’s South Hospital.
The resignations at Warsaw City Hall were commented on by the leader of the Law and Justice (PiS) party.
“This Scandal Cannot Be Stopped by the Resignations of Secondary Figures. It’s Time for Kierwiński and Trzaskowski”
“Tusk’s notebooks, VIP lounges, fictitious contracts… They let the real culprits off the hook while punishing scapegoats. Let’s not be convinced the matter is settled. The deputy mayor responsible for overseeing South Hospital remains in office, while members of Civic Platform (KO) and the Polish People’s Party (PSL) serving on the management and supervisory boards of Warsaw hospitals – who approved these practices – have not faced any consequences. The political ‘Godfather’ remains untouchable. The network of influence is still going strong,” Jarosław Kaczyński wrote on X.
