In a thrilling season finale at the Sakhir circuit, Robert Kubica and his Orlen Team WRT achieved a remarkable victory to seal their LMP2 World Endurance Championship title. The team, consisting of Kubica, Louis Deletraz, and Ruim Andrade, entered the final race with a comfortable 33-point lead over their competitors, making them the favorites for the championship.

The Orlen Team WRT, however, left nothing to chance, delivering a masterful performance in the eight-hour race in the Persian Gulf. They triumphed with a commanding 10-second lead, marking their third victory of the season and securing the championship in style. Notably, the Polish team Inter Europol Competition, led by Jakub Śmiechowski, claimed the LMP2 runner-up spot.

This season’s LMP2 category marked the end of an era in WEC, with the competition moving exclusively to hypercars in 2024. Meanwhile, the Bahrain event saw Toyota’s first team, driven by Sebastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley, and Ryo Hirakawa, clinching the hypercar category title. This win marked Toyota’s fifth consecutive World Endurance Championship title.
