Sakiewicz Rebuts Tusk: “You Are the Product of Foreign Interference – And It Shows You’re Losing Your Nerve”

A sharp exchange took place on X. Prime Minister Donald Tusk attacked his political opponents and right-wing commentators, accusing them of having “started praying for foreign intervention.” These words were swiftly and pointedly answered by Tomasz Sakiewicz, editor-in-chief of TV Republika, who reminded readers who the real beneficiary of foreign influence in Poland actually is.

The discussion began with a post by Donald Tusk reacting to comments about the capture of the Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro by American forces. The prime minister wrote: „They have already stopped believing in their victory in democratic elections, so they have begun praying for foreign intervention to overthrow the ‘Tusk dictatorship.’ You can’t sink any lower.”

The response was not long in coming. In his riposte, Tomasz Sakiewicz turned the prime minister’s narrative on its head and pointed out that it is Tusk himself who is “the result of foreign interference.”

„Mr Prime Minister, it is you who are the result of foreign interference, but this cardboard dictatorship will soon be pushed aside by Poles. And by the way, I can see your nerves are fraying…,”

wrote the editor-in-chief of TV Republika.

Donald Tusk’s words about “foreign intervention” were a direct reference to Saturday posts by Tomasz Sakiewicz and PiS MEP Mariusz Kamiński. In light of the news about the capture of the Venezuelan dictator, Sakiewicz posted the following question on X: Assad, Maduro… Tusk?

Meanwhile, Mariusz Kamiński published a photo of Maduro with the comment: „Look, Donald Tusk, how dictators end.”

These posts triggered a hysterical reaction from the governing camp. Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski accused right-wing commentators and politicians of disinformation, claiming that „suggesting that the Polish prime minister is a criminal and will be prosecuted is the worst example of disinformation.” He also stated that such actions were grist to the mill of Russian propaganda. Another critic to join in was KO MP Roman Giertych, who announced that he would file a report with the prosecutor’s office against Tomasz Sakiewicz for „incitement to war.”

Let us recall that from the very beginning, Donald Tusk and his political camp, as part of the “liberal” milieu in the Third Polish Republic, enjoyed media, political, and financial support from German and post-communist centers. During the period of the “reset” with Russia, between 2007 and 2014, Tusk was also spoken of warmly by Russian regime media.
