Sakiewicz Responds to Tusk’s Post: “They’re Planning Something Tomorrow”

Tomasz Sakiewicz, editor-in-chief of TV Republika, has responded following a concerning post by Donald Tusk regarding the presidential elections. The situation is becoming tense ahead of the Supreme Court’s decision, which will determine the validity of the elections. Is the government preparing an action against democracy?

What are they planning?

On Thursday, Donald Tusk published a post that triggered a wave of comments. He mentioned a “serious test” for the leaders of the Coalition on December 13, suggesting it is difficult to find legal means of action following the presidential elections “amidst the constitutional mess we inherited from PiS.”

The words of the Civic Platform chairman were perceived by many as signalling actions potentially exceeding the democratic procedures of transferring presidential power. Some commentators voiced concerns about a possible unlawful attempt to question the results of the presidential elections won by Karol Nawrocki.

The editor-in-chief of TV Republika weighed in:

“Ladies and gentlemen, Donald Tusk’s post indicates that they’re planning something tomorrow. The Gazeta Polska Clubs are calling on people to gather from 9 a.m. to defend the Supreme Court at Plac Krasińskich in Warsaw,” wrote Tomasz Sakiewicz.

In response to announcements by the prime minister and government politicians, Gazeta Polska Clubs have announced a mobilisation, urging citizens to assemble at the Supreme Court in Warsaw tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. to defend democracy and the integrity of the electoral process.
