The death of Barbara Skrzypek should serve as a final warning for authorities, politicians, journalists, and all those who have an impact on public life. Until now, even if there were cases of deaths resulting from intense political battles, they were usually the result of the prevailing atmosphere in the country or the actions of an overzealous lunatic. In this case, however, things were different.
An elderly, sensitive woman was deprived of her legal representative and interrogated under conditions that could rightfully terrify her. Moreover, this took place amidst a media frenzy, which included the participation of genuine psychopaths. Whoever planned this must have been aware that the situation could end in tragedy. We are entering a phase of democracy where the destruction of individuals is becoming routine.
This machinery will not only crush the opposition. Soon, it will also target those associated with the ruling camp who, for some reason, have fallen out of favor with those who hold the keys to power. We recognize this mechanism from totalitarian regimes, and we know that the longer it operates, the harder it is to stop. If this death does not serve as a warning, then soon nothing will be able to stop it.
The only question is, who will be the next victim?
