Security and cooperation must remain at the base of the OSCE, the organisation’s chairman, Zbigniew Rau, said on Thursday at a sitting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Lodz, central Poland.

Zbigniew Rau, who is also Poland’s foreign minister, said the OSCE (Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe) had to put special emphasis on security in view of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, thanks to which “our sense of security has vanished.”

“Security and cooperation must remain our fundamental reference points,” Rau said.

He also added that it was a legal and moral obligation of OSCE countries to bring to justice persons responsible for war crimes committed by Russia as well as those whose decisions led to war crimes.
