Marcin Józefaciuk has been suspended from the rights of a member of the Civic Coalition parliamentary club, announced KO club chairman Zbigniew Konwiński. According to him, the reason for the suspension was “criticism of the government’s actions in the field of education” and allowing a convicted person to take part in a parliamentary committee meeting. And this, for an exceptionally repulsive crime.
“MP Marcin Józefaciuk was, yesterday (Friday – editor’s note), by decision of the Presidium of the Civic Coalition Parliamentary Club, suspended for two months. The reason was public criticism of the government’s actions in the field of education, as well as allowing a convicted person to participate in a parliamentary committee meeting,”
Konwiński stated.
Konwiński confirmed that it concerned the 4 August meeting of the Parliamentary Group on the Protection of Children in the Process of Parental Separation, chaired by Józefaciuk, in which, as it turned out, a person convicted of sexual crimes against their own child took part. He added that another reason for Józefaciuk’s suspension was his online posts concerning the government’s actions in the field of education.
Józefaciuk apologized for the situation that occurred during the committee meeting, which, as he reported, was devoted to child support tables. He explained that one of the associations had registered a person who, as it later turned out, had been convicted by a final court judgment and had served a prison sentence. The KO MP admittedly had not checked who would be speaking at the meeting.
“I was misled about the nature of this person’s offense. Furthermore, the pass office does not have the authority to block individuals who have served their sentence and enjoy full civil rights,”
Józefaciuk stated.
