Shocking scale of the tragedy in Lutoryż. 57-year-old doctor brought to the prosecutor’s office

Pathomorphologist Magdalena H., the former owner of the property in Lutoryż where human remains were discovered, has been brought to the prosecutor’s office, where her questioning has begun, according to Krzysztof Ciechanowski, spokesperson for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Rzeszów.

In the village of Lutoryż near Rzeszów, medical waste, including the remains of human fetuses, was uncovered during earthworks on a plot of land. On Friday, the District Prosecutor’s Office in Rzeszów announced the detention of 57-year-old pathomorphologist Magdalena H., who had previously owned the property.

Krzysztof Ciechanowski stated that the woman had been brought to the prosecutor’s office.

“Her questioning began just moments ago,” he said at around 1:00 p.m.

Earlier, prosecutors reported that procedural activities involving the suspect would be delayed because she had felt unwell and was taken to a hospital for medical examinations.

According to Ciechanowski, as of Saturday morning, 32 fetuses had been discovered on the property.

“The work is still ongoing, and it may continue until the beginning of next week,” Ciechanowski said.

He added that examinations are also underway to determine the age of the fetuses and how long they had been on the property.

Responding to journalists’ questions, the prosecutor emphasized that several possible scenarios are being investigated. He noted that there is currently no evidence that the woman performed illegal abortions.

“I will not hide the fact that conducting procedural activities with the suspect will be crucial for us,” Ciechanowski stated.

Once those activities have been completed, a decision will be made regarding the possible application of preventive measures.

The investigation is being conducted in connection with suspected offenses involving the desecration of human remains and the disposal of hazardous waste in a location not designated for its storage or disposal. These crimes carry penalties of up to two years and up to twelve years in prison, respectively.
