Shocking Twist: Minister Hires ‘North Korean Regime Collaborator’—PiS MP Demands Answers!”

A PiS (Law and Justice) MP announced on the social media platform X that he has submitted a parliamentary inquiry:

“Minister Klimczak of the PSL, why have you hired an open collaborator of the North Korean regime? As promised, I have submitted an inquiry to Dariusz Klimczak concerning the public collaborator of the North Korean regime who, as of March 1, has been appointed vice president of Torpol—a company dependent on the CPK (Central Communication Port).”

He went on to note that:

“Torpol constructs railway infrastructure—for instance, it is modernizing the tracks used by the 1st Masurian Artillery Brigade stationed in Węgorzewo, which defends us against any attack from the Kaliningrad Oblast.”

“On March 1, Jacek Poniewierski was named vice president of the company. As revealed by the bimonthly magazine ‘Z biegiem szyn,’ between 2009 and 2018, he served as secretary general and vice president of the Polish-Korean Society, which fosters the development of relations with North Korea—Kim Jong Un’s regime,” wrote MP Moskal.

He added that:

“Kim Pyong Il, the son of Kim Il Sung, attended Poniewierski’s wedding in 2013.”

“Because of these ties to the DPRK, he was dismissed at the time from a state-owned company. Yet now he returns to a key post. Russia is already here, Mr. Deputy Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz, and it’s thanks to your PSL colleagues,”

Moskal concluded.

“Mr. Jacek Poniewierski’s ties to the North Korean regime are still alive”

In his inquiry, the PiS MP also stated that:

“Mr. Jacek Poniewierski’s connections to the communist, genocidal North Korean regime remain very much alive.”

“In 2022, at the Poland-Asia Scientific Conference and Economic Forum at the Asian Studies Center in Wrocław, he was scheduled to deliver a lecture titled ‘What Does North Korea Teach Us? Protecting a State’s Sovereignty Through Militarization in an Era of Clashing World Powers,’ representing the aforementioned Polish-Korean Society. I assume I need not describe to you, Minister, the brutality and savagery of the North Korean regime; however, let me note that North Korea has aligned itself with Russia in its war of aggression against Ukraine by sending soldiers to kill Ukrainians,”

Moskal wrote.

In the MP’s view:

“Appointing a known sympathizer of the North Korean regime as vice president of a state-controlled company responsible for building Poland’s critical railway infrastructure is profoundly embarrassing for Torpol’s Supervisory Board, including its chairman Marcin Michalski, as well as for you, Minister, since you oversee both companies within your department.”

Five questions to Minister Klimczak

The PiS MP posed the following questions to Klimczak:

  1. Why did the state-controlled Torpol—under your supervision—appoint Mr. Jacek Poniewierski as vice president, in light of the reports about his ties to the North Korean regime?
  2. What remuneration (both base salary and variable components) can Vice President Poniewierski expect to receive at Torpol?
  3. Did you seek an opinion from the Internal Security Agency (ABW) or the Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW) regarding Mr. Poniewierski before his appointment?
  4. Please provide the results of the Supervisory Board’s vote at Torpol on the appointment of Mr. Poniewierski as vice president.
  5. Is the modernization of railway line No. 38, used by the 1st Masurian Artillery Brigade—and thus crucial for national security—being covered by counterintelligence measures?
