Shocking words from Tusk about the EU-Mercosur deal. Kaczyński: He’s clearly detached from reality

“Tusk reportedly admitted yesterday that the deal with Mercosur countries is, in fact, not that bad, and that he doesn’t really understand what the problem is. We already knew he doesn’t respect the intelligence of Poles, but now he’s starting to have problems with his own…” said Law and Justice (PiS) leader Jarosław Kaczyński on X.

Bizarre words from Tusk on the EU-Mercosur deal

During a meeting with residents of Piotrków Trybunalski, Prime Minister Donald Tusk referred to the recently approved EU-Mercosur trade agreement, which could lead to an influx of cheaper, lower-quality food from South American countries into the European Union, including Poland.

“In all other EU countries, but also in Poland, the number of those who will benefit from the Mercosur agreement – and I’m talking here about exporters of Polish products – may be comparable to, or even greater than, the number of farmers who feel threatened. Unfortunately, every interest has two sides. As prime minister, I have to ensure that Polish products have export markets. So if we shut ourselves off from the rest of the world to protect Polish agricultural products, at the same time we will drastically limit our export opportunities, possibly also to the detriment of Polish farmers themselves,” he said.

Tusk then turned to one of the farmers, asking why Argentinian beef should be cheaper than Polish beef, adding that he himself doesn’t quite understand the issue.

PiS leader on Tusk: Clearly detached from reality

Law and Justice (PiS) chairman Jarosław Kaczyński commented on Tusk’s shocking words in a post on X.

“Tusk reportedly admitted yesterday that the deal with Mercosur countries is, in fact, not that bad, and that he doesn’t really understand what the problem is. He also stated that the issue of the 100 specifics is closed because, since he only got 31% of the votes, he has, in his view, fulfilled just one-third of his promises,” Kaczyński wrote.

He added that, in his opinion, the prime minister is “clearly detached from reality.”

“We already knew he doesn’t respect the intelligence of Poles, but now he’s starting to have problems with his own…” he concluded.
