Two hours of discussion on TVP, even though from our side there was only one condition: an open debate involving five television stations—writes Paweł Szefernaker, head of Karol Nawrocki’s campaign team, on X. Will the debate in Końskie take place? Which media outlets will be allowed to co-organize it? With just over a day to go before the event, many questions remain.
On Thursday, Karol Nawrocki’s campaign manager, Paweł Szefernaker, appeared at TVP headquarters, where, according to previous statements, Rafał Trzaskowski’s team members as well as representatives from TVP, TVN24, and Polsat News also gathered. The meeting concerned the potential debate between Trzaskowski and Nawrocki, set to be held in Końskie.
“We came here today out of respect for all the viewers who watch TVP, TVN, and Polsat. We only demand that Trzaskowski’s campaign show respect by agreeing to a debate on five stations (…). The only condition we mentioned is that the debate be fair. Five stations want to host the debate, but Trzaskowski’s team, unfortunately, spoke of a three-station debate,” Szefernaker told reporters after leaving the TVP headquarters.
The campaign team is sticking to its stance. Szefernaker clarified it further on social media:
“Two hours of discussion at TVP, even though we had only one requirement: an open debate involving five television stations. Trzaskowski’s staff, TVP (in liquidation), and TVN didn’t want to talk about that,” he wrote on X.
He reiterated that Polsat had agreed to a broader format including Telewizja Republika and WPolsce24.
“What is Trzaskowski afraid of?” the politician asks.
