Simion Backs Nawrocki in Bold Call to Reclaim Europe’s Sovereignty

George Simion, leader of Romania’s conservative movement, has overwhelmingly dominated the first round of the presidential elections, securing over 40 percent of the vote. He is now calling for a revival of sovereignty across the European Union and has formally endorsed Karol Nawrocki.

George Simion to Steve Bannon: “We Totally Bashed the Globalists”

In a high-profile interview with Steve Bannon’s War Room, Romanian presidential frontrunner George Simion proclaimed a resounding victory over globalist forces, boldly declaring: “We totally bashed the globalists here in Romania.” Simion’s statement followed his decisive triumph in the Romanian primary elections, where he garnered more than twice as many votes as his opponent in the upcoming runoff election scheduled for May 18—the current mayor of Bucharest.

Positioning himself at the forefront of Europe’s conservative resurgence, Simion used Bannon’s platform to reiterate his call for transatlantic unity among sovereignty-oriented movements. He offered his full endorsement to Polish conservative candidate Karol Nawrocki, whom he described as “a candidate from the European MAGA list.” Nawrocki is also running against the mayor of Warsaw in a parallel primary election, coincidentally set to take place on May 18—the same date as Romania’s presidential runoff.

Simion emphasized that this timing is “more than a coincidence—it is a signal that the sovereign nations of Eastern Europe are rising together.” He regards this potential double victory as a turning point for the conservative axis within the EU, reinforcing what he calls “a sovereign alliance of European nations”—an initiative inspired by leaders such as Giorgia Meloni of Italy and supported by the American conservative revival.

With growing support from the Romanian diaspora, backing from European allies, and media exposure in U.S. conservative circles, Simion is shaping a message of EU reform grounded in national sovereignty, Christian values, respect for national identity, and resistance to centralized overreach by EU institutions.
