Polish athletes Pia Skrzyszowska and Michał Haratyk win bronze medals at the European Championships in Rome. The European Athletics Championships are taking place in Rome, Italy, from June 7-12, 2024. Medals will be awarded over the six-day event in track and field and road races.
Pia Skrzyszowska clinched the bronze medal at the European Athletics Championships in Rome, setting a new personal best of 12.42 seconds. Despite her remarkable improvement by 0.19 seconds, she was outpaced by France’s Cyrena Samba-Mayela (12.31) and Switzerland’s Mujinga Kambundji (12.40).
Skrzyszowska, who was defending her European champion title, displayed exceptional skill and determination on the track.
Michał Haratyk’s Surprise Success
Michał Haratyk also secured a bronze medal in the men’s shot put with a season-best throw of 20.94 meters. Italy’s Leonardo Fabbri dominated the competition, taking the gold, while Croatian Filip Mihajlevic claimed the silver medal.
Haratyk’s impressive performance added to Poland’s medal tally and highlighted the nation’s strength in field events.
