Someone from the ‘Strong Together’ Movement Threatened the President. Police Issue a Statement

Someone from the “Silni Razem” (‘Strong Together’) Movement publicly threatened the president. How did the police respond? There is a statement.

During the Poland-Netherlands match, an extremely dangerous incident took place. On the platform X.com, one user posted public death threats against the president of Poland. He showed a photo of a handgun with the caption “see you, Karolek.” There are growing calls for an immediate response from the authorities. The police assure that they have already taken action in the case.

The match between the Polish national team and the Netherlands, which ended in a 1:1 draw, gathered over 56,000 fans. President Karol Nawrocki appeared in the stands of PGE Narodowy along with his son, Antek. But what happened online crossed every boundary of decency.

“See you, Karolek”

When the official profile of the Polish Football Association (PZPN) reported the president’s presence at the stadium, one user reposted that message, adding a photo of a pistol with a telling caption: “see you, Karolek.” This post constitutes an explicit criminal threat – and according to the law, anyone who threatens another person with committing an offense harmful to them or to someone close to them, if the threat evokes a justified fear that it may be carried out, is subject to up to 3 years’ imprisonment.

On Saturday morning, the Warsaw Metropolitan Police Headquarters referred to the matter in a statement on X. As noted, the Warsaw Metropolitan Police Headquarters (KSP) “immediately after obtaining information related to the post on platform X undertook actions in the case.” “These actions are ongoing” – the statement reads. It was added that the photo with the pistol used in the deleted post threatening the president had previously been published in a different context, on other sites and social media platforms.

However, this does not change much – the death threats against the president were obvious, both from the context of the post and from the image used. It is worth emphasizing that the perpetrator deleted his social media account, most likely attempting to hinder identification. The profile on X operated under the hashtag #silnirazem, which is associated with the “Silni Razem” (‘Strong Together’) Movement, a group of online trolls supporting Donald Tusk and the ruling camp.
