Iga Świątek and Hubert Hurkacz showcased exceptional prowess, clinching a commanding win against Beatriz Haddad Maia and Marcelo Melo with a final score of 6-4, 6-3 in the third match of the Poland-Brazil clash at the ongoing United Cup in Australia.

Although the mixed doubles bout didn’t sway the ultimate outcome of the Poland-Brazil encounter, the combined performance of Świątek and Hurkacz is set to carry weight as the tournament progresses. Moreover, it might have implications for their impending participation in the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.

At 3-4 in the first set, their opponents had two chances to break their serve. But Świątek and Hurkacz rallied, winning the next two games to secure the set at 6-4. This shifted momentum, leading to another break in the second set’s opening game. From there, the Polish pair took charge, holding their serves smoothly. Even when faced with a breakpoint at 5-3, they not only defended but also capitalized by breaking their opponents again.

In a standout performance, Iga Świątek and Hubert Hurkacz emerged triumphant over Beatriz Haddad Maia and Marcelo Melo, securing a 6-4, 6-3 victory.
